Anyone who has been planning to rent retail or office space in the sustainable building known as Ropemaker Place had better think again. With the completion of the letting of the last three remaining retail units to food operators EAT and POD, plus Clyde Surgery, in addition to the worldwide financial information services company Markus taking up its option to lease the final 22,000 square feet of new office space available within the development, Ropemaker Place, which is widely regarded as one of the most sustainable buildings in the whole of London, is now fully occupied.
Ropemaker Place was completed two years ago back in 2009, and contains no less than 20 storeys of both retail and office space. The development has been rated "BREAM" for excellent and was also the very first building in the whole of Europe to be given pre-certification for LEED "Platinum".
"We are very pleased to announce that the building is fully occupied," says the Head of London Leasing for British Land, Paul Burgess. "The speed at which these lettings have been achieved is testament to the building's attractive, flexible design and industry leading green credentials as well as its ability to meet the diverse and demanding needs of major occupiers."
In total, Ropemaker Place offers 594,000 square feet of office space, all of which is now fully occupied. Other tenants include the Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ and Mitsubishi UFJ Securities International.
